The Great Korean Road Trip – Day 25 – The Master and Apprentice

You may already know this, but although I am writing the final day of this road trip sometime in February, this entire trip happened over July and August of last year. I stopped posting real time posts during the road trip when I made it to Jeju around day 16 and simply didn’t have the motivation to do it as I traveled longer and longer distances. Nonetheless, my excitement for this, the last day of the trip was so great that I did write up a long post about it on my Instagram. This more or less will be an extended version of that post. It is fitting that this day stats in Jeonju as this story starts here too, way back in May, 2019 during the Jeonju International Film Festival (JIFF).

The Great Korean Road Trip – Day 23 – Suncheon Naganeupseong

Naganeupseong Walled Town in Suncheon

That usually meant revisiting the famed Suncheon Bay (which I did again and it was awesome again). This time, however, it was the walled town of Naganeupseong which was the highlight, but keep reading because there were a LOT of honorable mentions. Read more

The Great Korean Road Trip – Day 22 – Bijindo

Bijindo Twin Island

Much like Sado Island off the coast of Yeosu, Bijindo is a twin set of islands connected by a sand isthmus. I’ve actually seen this island quite a lot in promotional photos of the south part of Korea’s coast and have met people who talked up its beauty. After the disappointment that was Geoje, Bijindo definitely did NOT let me down.    Read more

The Great Korean Road Trip – Day 21 – Geoje Island

Geoje Island

Alright, I am going to admit it. After Jeju, Geojedo felt a bit overrated. I had a good teacher friend who grew up here and always talked up its beauty. It’s beaches were supposed to rival even those are Jeju. In my hasty 1 day observation, I am going with nah! Geoje is an alright place to visit if you’re in the neighborhood and just want a less known place with some ocean water, but I probably wouldn’t even recommended to Read more
